Flower Moon, May Farmer's Almanac

I so look forward to the Flower Moon, I am always heaving a sigh of relief from winter around this time, and the world bursts forth like a playground. I had a lot of fun painting spring flowers on this moon. This print is the fifth in my moon manual project, I have committed to paint 62 full moons representing five different cultures. Pink Moon, April Farmer's Almanac

This is the Pink Moon, I didn't really connect to the idea of a pink moon. I am not a grouch or anything, but I don't really love pink and I couldn't think of pink things that were moony; lemonade was really the only thing that I could think of that was pink. I pulled out my india inks and just let it happen, and even though it turned out really straightforward I liked it. This print is the fourth in my moon manual project, I have committed to paint 62 full moons representing five different cultures. Worm Moon, March Farmer's Almanac

This is the Worm Moon, it usually happens in late February or early March. The name seems appropriate to me, I know that it probably has to do with fertile soil and how great it is to have worms in your garden in early spring, but because this time of year is so hard on me emotionally I can't help but identify with a more morose interpretation of the name. My inspiration for this one is an apple with a worm inside. This is the third moon in my Full Moon Manual Collection, I have committed to paint 62 full moons representing five different cultures. Super Blue Blood Snow Moon With Eclipse, February Moon, Farmer's Almanac Collection

This is the special super blue blood snow full moon with lunar eclipse which occurred on January 31, 2018! Even though the second moon in the Farmers Almanac is the Snow Moon, this one was so special and rare I created a special painting just for this occasion. Snow Moon, February Farmer's Almanac

This is the snow moon, I had a hard time with the design of this one. The moon is white (usually) and snow is white (also usually) so I wasn't sure how to make it interesting. I settled on this geometric design, I hope you like it. This print is the second in my moon manual project, I have committed to paint 62 full moons representing five different cultures. Wolf Moon, January Farmer’s Almanac

This is the Wolf Moon. The origin of the name is Algonquin and is the first full moon of the year according to the Farmer's Almanac. I loved making this because it reminded me of a dream where a wolf threatened a group of people and instead of responding with fear, I felt only awe. I was locked in a stare with the wolf, but strangely it felt familiar and maybe even loving. I have loved wolves ever since and held this feeling and dream in mind as I painted this picture. This print is from my moon manual project. This print is the first in my full moon manual project, I have committed to paint 62 full moons representing five different cultures.
