This is the Wolf Moon. The origin of the name is Algonquin and is the first full moon of the year according to the Farmer's Almanac. I loved making this because it reminded me of a dream where a wolf threatened a group of people and instead of responding with fear, I felt only awe. I was locked in a stare with the wolf, but strangely it felt familiar and maybe even loving. I have loved wolves ever since and held this feeling and dream in mind as I painted this picture. This print is from my moon manual project.
This print is the first in my full moon manual project, I have committed to paint 62 full moons representing five different cultures.
