This is the Worm Moon, it usually happens in late February or early March. The name seems appropriate to me, I know that it probably has to do with fertile soil and how great it is to have worms in your garden in early spring, but because this time of year is so hard on me emotionally I can't help but identify with a more morose interpretation of the name. My inspiration for this one is an apple with a worm inside.
This is the third moon in my Full Moon Manual Collection, I have committed to paint 62 full moons representing five different cultures.
